Empowering LA Youth Through Tech Training: Per Scholas at Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center
Per Scholas, a nationally acclaimed program, is making a transformative impact by offering free, technology-driven training to young adults aged 18–24. Through its satellite location at the Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center, this Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) initiative provides participants in Los Angeles with industry-recognized certifications in high-demand fields such as IT Support and Cybersecurity. These certifications provide an accessible pathway to post-secondary education, equipping participants with the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market and secure sustainable career opportunities.
Launched in December 2024, the program at the Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center celebrated its first cohort of seven graduates, who successfully completed the rigorous training. With new cohorts scheduled to begin in April and August, the program continues to expand its reach, empowering local youth to pursue rewarding careers in the tech industry.
