The Chandler Bikeway is getting a fresh upgrade, bringing new energy, accessibility, and community space to the heart of North Hollywood. EWDD, along with Council Member Adrin Nazarian, and community members recently gathered for a ribbon cutting on April 1st to celebrate the completion of the Chandler Bikeway Improvements Project. The enhancements include new recreational plazas with exercise equipment, ADA upgrades to improve accessibility, and landscaping and irrigation improvements designed to support water conservation.
EWDD was proud to be part of the celebration, with remarks delivered on behalf of the department recognizing the collaboration that brought this project to life. Behind the scenes, EWDD played a key role in making the project possible through approximately $1.2 million in Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) Excess Non-Housing Bond Proceeds.
Originally established to support redevelopment and economic growth, the former Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) funded projects like this through bond financing. Today, the CRA/LA continues this work, with most bond funds invested back into communities. The Chandler Bikeway Improvements Project reflects this ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents. The Chandler Bikeway is getting a fresh upgrade, bringing new energy, accessibility, and community space to the heart of North Hollywood.
